Sunburn, Sifting Sand and Making up Spanish Words!

Week 2 in Guatemala has consisted of a lot of sunburn, sifting sand, and making up Spanish words. Our project started this week with going into the first schools here to perform the story of Noah to 10 classes (and we think they might have even understood what we were talking about). However itā€™s safe to say we are all ready to move on to our next Bible story. Building work also started; I guess we canā€™t all be natural builders!

Went to our first and probably last Guatemalan funeral, it was lovely how much hope there was at the service! The after bit however was slightly strange, if you have ever watched the TV programme ā€˜Death in Paradiseā€™ just imagine that type of music playing whilst hundreds of people march through the street with a coffin.

Prayer meetings here humble us; watching Godā€™s people get on their knees to cry out for how thankful they are was a real eye opener.

Our day off this week was a trip to the lake which consisted of a lot of sun and not enough sun cream.

Prayer List:

  • After going to our youth group on Saturday we met a few families that could really do with prayer.
  • We would love the opportunity to become more involved in the community.
  • Continued prayer for language skills would be great.
