How we’re funded

Latin Link is a Christian mission agency and UK registered charity. Full details of our accounts for the last tax year can be found in the latest Annual Report.

We are grateful to our heavenly Father, who has sustained and provided for Latin Link and its forebears for over 125 years. We continue to trust him for our provision for the future.

‘I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.’ Philippians 1:3-5

 

Supporting individuals

Each Latin Link mission worker – whether they are a longer-term Stay member, someone on a Stride placement, or a member of a Step team – has to raise their own support, so that their placement is fully funded through fundraising efforts and donations. Some are also able to get sponsorship through their university or work programmes.

Supporting an individual through Latin Link has many benefits, including minimising money transfer charges, and providing easy and secure mechanisms for giving online or by post.

Many individual donors are also able to Gift Aid the income tax on their giving, which as a registered charity we can then reclaim and pass on to the members being supported.

Core funding

Like all charities, we also need funding for general running costs. We aim to spend every penny wisely, in our commitment to serve and inform both members and supporters, and to promote the cause of Latin mission whenever possible, across Britain and Ireland, and beyond.

This includes working with those exploring God’s call to mission in Latin America and with Latin Americans called to serve God in Britain and Ireland. We seek to raise awareness about Latin America, to stay connected with churches, to represent Latin mission at key events, and above all to promote prayer and service through the creation of publications and other resources.

Money given without restriction enables us to spend it where most needed.

Donations

As a charity we are funded by donations from individuals, churches, trusts, and other groups such as schools or corporate donors. We thank God for all those who give so generously to the work of Latin Link and we pray for them too.

We also receive significant funding through legacy giving, which has proved incredibly providential in recent years. Many legacy donors have been long-term supporters or have served in Latin mission. Their gifts will surely last and bear fruit for generations to come.

Fundraising

Many of our supporters also fundraise for Latin Link. They use a wide range of methods, from running half-marathons to holding church plant sales. We also provide resources for organising Latin-themed fundraising events (called Latin Nights).
