Damy is from Custódia, in the north east of Brazil, and will be coming to the UK to serve on a Stride placement in September 2025.

He is an active member of his local church in Custódia, where he is involved in several ministries including preaching, evangelism, home visits, leading worship, Bible studies, media, radio ministry, and supporting the children’s ministry.

He has also been involved with short-term mission projects within Brazil – particularly as part of a team reaching out to people in Serra da Torre, a quilombola community just outside of Custódia (“quilombola” refers to Afro-Brazilian communities traditionally founded by escaped slaves).

Damy will be spending a year serving at St Barnabas Church in Winchester, where he will be reaching out to the local community through various church initiatives, such as the church café. He will also work with the children and young people.
