Abel is originally from China. He became a Christian when he studied in the UK as an international student.

He has visited Argentina twice – first as part of a Step Team, and more recently during the summer of 2025 as a Stride member.

Abel is currently serving at St Andrew’s Chelsea Church in London, and is preparing to return to Argentina for a longer-term Stride placement in the future.
