Equip a classroom at La Luz Cultural Centre
Latin Link Stay members Matías and Paula Rigau serve at La Luz (The Light) Cultural Centre in Málaga, Spain.
La Luz is a place where refugees and immigrants, who have recently arrived in Spain, can come and receive Spanish and English classes free of charge. Their main aim is to help those attending the classes to integrate into Spanish society. The centre receives between 70 and 90 students every day, with many having to stand up due to lack of space and chairs. There is a further classroom that could be used, but it currently has no furniture.
Matí and Paula are raising funds to purchase at least 12 chairs and 3 tables, which would enable students to use this third classroom. Any additional funds raised will be used to purchase stationery for the classes to use.
