This week we have continued teaching English in the local school. Weā€™ve enjoyed brainstorming how to structure our lessons and keep the children engaged, particularly with the language barrier. Last night, during our Bible study, Hermano Milton reminded us of Colossians 3:17: ā€œAnd whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through himā€. We were glad to be reminded of this and want to make sure that everywhere we go, people see that what weā€™re doing is for Godā€™s glory. Please pray that as we work in the school, weā€™ll be good Christian role models for the children, showing them how Jesus is working in all our lives. Please also continue to pray for us as we teach in the school, as weā€™ve found the language barrier and attention span of the children challenging at times. Pray for our patience and ease of communication with the younger children.

We had a lovely time celebrating Miltonā€™s birthday at the camp on Saturday. We made him a birthday card with messages from each of us, and a drawing of a cow which he loved! It was nice to see how they celebrate birthdays here in Ecuador.

It was another very busy weekend in the city, with worship rehearsals, singing at the front of church, shopping and playing sports with the university students. We enjoyed being back in the city but did struggle with energy levels as we havenā€™t been sleeping very well. The cockerel at the campamento enjoys its early mornings – us, not so much! Weā€™d appreciate prayer for our energy levels and good health as we continue on with our busy lives here.

Weā€™re thankful for time spent with the university students at church, safe travels between Santo Domingo and the camp and the way that weā€™ve been welcomed into Milton and Nellyā€™s family.

Thank you for your prayers so far – we do feel really supported by everyone at home and weā€™re very grateful!

Gracias!
