Latinfile No. 54

Welcome to your wholehearted Latinfile, edition #54!

Each page is inspired by our verse for the year, Colossians 3:23, which reminds us that we are all called to serve faithfully (whatever you do), having the right motives (work at it with all your heart), and with the correct focus (as working for the Lord).

It is our desire that, through the words and images shared in these pages, you would understand more of the heart of many of our members as they serve the Lord. They live out their ‘whatevers’ in a variety of places and with many different churches and projects across Latin America and Europe. In God’s kingdom there is no area of life that is off-limits, no need he doesn’t want us to help meet and no people he doesn’t want us to love.

You will read about some of our wholehearted local friends, as well as how two of our families are serving the Lord. We touch on some more sensitive topics, such as how we understand grief in the context of mission life, and what it looks like to work in restorative justice in Bolivia. You’ll discover what it means to a Colombian church to send missionaries to the UK and how two of our members are using their studies to enhance the work of Latin Link.

By the time you reach the last page you’ll understand more of our wholehearted service, and we hope this motivates you to pray, volunteer, give, or maybe even go yourself! This edition outlines ways you can step further into God’s story of mission to and from Latin America and Europe. We especially need volunteers across all regions of Britain and Ireland. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with the team to chat more about the possibilities.

We are also launching our new fundraising initiative, the Quiz that Gives! Give a little – Quiz a lot! It promises to be wholehearted fun and an easy way to get people together, raising awareness about mission, as well as testing the knowledge and skills of the competing teams.
