Our second week in Salta has been exciting! We have been working for the church for a week now, and gradually we are getting to know more and more people in the church and neighbourhood. And we’ve explored more of Salta and Argentina culture.

On Monday we had a day off, which was a great time to relax, reflect and explore the city. Our church sister, Greta, kindly organised for us to go hiking up the mountain and then took us to the centre of Salta to enjoy the evening city life. On the top of the mountain, we felt able to stop and appreciate God’s amazing creation; Salta is such a beautiful city.

From Tuesday to Saturday morning, we worked on our daily projects, helping the church to improve its roof and garden. Our relationship with the builders is gradually progressing; we’ve worked together and have been able to learn from their building and plastering skills. We’ve also had a chance to cook them different British and Chinese dishes, and talk about the culture and life, and pray together before meals.

We believe and hope that our work will make difference for the church, and will also make difference for these builders and the local community. However, there are more financial needs for this church, please kindly remember this in prayer. The church are currently doing their own fundraising to help push this work forward – you can share this link to help out: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/saltasteproof

Prayer points:

  • Please continue to pray for our health; pray that God gives us the energy and endurance to work for Him in this place.
  • Please pray for our relationships with the church, builders and the local community.
  • Pray that God would continue to use us to share His love cross-culturally.
