Time goes so quickly; we are already in our third week!
This week was a little bit different as it is our final week in Salta. From Monday to Wednesday, we continued to work on our building project, and we moved on to the final stage – painting the kitchen.
After two days of intensive painting and one day of cleaning and tidying up, the kitchen is renewed! It was great to see the difference we’ve made! The church and builders were all very happy about the new kitchen. We want to thank God for using us to develop a nice and safe space for the children and families.
From Thursday to Saturday, we took a short holiday. The Latin Link team in Salta arranged a trip to Cafayate, a nice place four hours away from the city. During the trip, we saw amazing mountains and desert scenery, and we learned a lot about the history of Argentina – and Latin America as a whole – from a trip to a museum. We want to give thanks to God for bringing us to see the beautiful scenery and appreciate His creation; we learned a lot from this trip.
On Sunday, our church brothers and sisters kindly organised a trip to a lake in Salta. We had good fellowship whilst fishing, sailing, and enjoying a BBQ. Then we had our church service in the evening, which was our final service in Salta. When we thought about being back in the UK this time next week, we felt both excited and sad. We shared our thoughts and thanks during the service, thanking God for using us to serve in Argentina.
At the time of writing, we are getting ready to leave for the UK. After a farewell party with the church people on Monday evening (8th August) we board our flights on Tuesday lunchtime (9th August) lunchtime.
Please pray for safety as we travel home. Please pray for our transition, that God would help us to share what we’ve witnessed with our home church, families, friends and many people, to encourage them to think about cross-culture mission, and to know more about Latin America. Please pray that the Lord will continue to guide us and use us to serve for Him, to go and make disciples of all nations.
