Philhos Retreat 2023
Jan Greenwood serves as family and Mission Kid (MK) carer for Latin Link International, and also for Philhos, the department of the Brazilian Mission Association, which promotes the well-bring of the MK and their family. Philhos are running their annual Retreat of Brazilian Crosscultural Missionary Kids in the coming months.
This annual gathering is a special retreat where MKs can connect with other MKs, with themsleves, and with God. It fosters a safe environment where every activity is designed to encourage time to reflect and connect, helping these children of cross-cultural missionaries process the challenges and rewards of being a Third Culture Kid (TCK).
These moments are special and powerful as MKs connect with others who have gone through similar experiences, in a place where their story is validated and honoured. they enjoy the sense of belonging, discover themselves in their identity, and flourish. It is a time for healing, personal discovery, spiritual renewal and solidarity with other TCKs.
The cost of this 5 day retreat is about £100 per MK (including accommodation and food). The MK often has additional costs of a flight or long bus journey to get there. Any donations to support these MKs attend the retreat are gratefully received.
