From October 2024, Sajan and Sophie will be completing a 7-month Stride placement, based in the town of San Juan, Guatemala. They will be working alongside a local project, AMI San Lucas, to contribute to the development of marginalised communities of Guatemala. Sajan will be serving as a paediatrician at the clinic and within the community. As a public health specialist and midwife, Sophie will be serving on community health projects with a particular focus on maternal health. They are eager to learn as well as help train with the local education programmes. They are completing their cross-cultural missionary course and studying Spanish as they prepare.
