My name is Grace and I have just completed a mathematics and music degree at the University of Birmingham. I am going on a Stride placement for six months from September to February. I decided to take this opportunity as I have enjoyed serving my Christian union and seeing many people come to know Jesus so I want to see how God uses people in other locations to make disciples of all nations.

I will be helping at the San Lucas Association that has a children’s orchestra. They have a violin, viola, and cello section, where I will be able to use my skills in music and teaching to help the children develop their own music skills.

I will spend part of my week at San Lucas and part of my week working at the University with Latin Link team member Fredi Rivero, working to set up a Christian youth group, as well as helping Fredi with the young adult group at church.

There’s also the possibility of doing ministry with another organisation in Moyobamba called Mision610 who do evangelism in churches and other areas of society.

Things to pray for:
Learning the language: I know a bit of Spanish but it is rusty. Please pray that what I do know comes back and I can learn the language quickly.
Adjusting to a new culture: I have minimal travel experience so getting used to a new culture and traveling solo is a daunting prospect. Please pray that I feel peace and enjoy the new experiences and culture.
Relationship with God: please pray that my relationship with God is strengthened and I learn to depend on him more as I serve in a new culture.
