Ethan is on Stride until autumn 2025, working with De Braços Abertos (With Open Arms), a local non-government organisation in a smi-rural area on the edge of Recife, Brazil.

De Braços Abertos was founded by mission workers from the USA, Switzerland, and the UK, with the desire of providing a safe space and shelter for children and young people who find themselves at risk.

Ethan supports their sports ministry, Christian school, and community outreach. These projects seek to support and reach children, young people, and their families, with the good news of Christ. They also provide them with a safe space to grow, develop, and receive a qualtiy education which provides opportunities for the future. Ethan is involved in supporting a number of different activities throughout the week including English lessons, music classes, and sport, particularly football.

Ethan also works alongside Josh, a local mission worker, to support him with outreach to the local community, and will attend regular language lessons in the first few months.
