In March, Iām going to Guatemala with a team of 10 for four months to help with local churches and spread the word of Jesus.
This will include working with local churches through practical help such as building work but also help with childrenās groups, do sports with them, help with the church on Sundays and more to further encourage Christians in Guatemala.
My team and I will first work in a neighbourhood called PamĆ©zabal of the rural town of Santa Lucia, SololĆ”. Here we will be helping complete a new church building they have recently constructed as well as getting involved with youth and childrenās work there.
After the two months here, we will spend the second half of the trip in Guatemala City, working with a community called La Terminal in a very low-income area. In both these projects, Iām looking forward to seeing how God works in all sorts of situations through these peopleās lives and my own throughout the trip to Guatemala.
Iāve worked since September to try and cover the costs for this trip, but any donations would still be great to help the project in general and give us further financial resources.
More importantly I would find prayer even more valuable for this trip as thereās no doubt that it wonāt be easy. In particular, that we can all help effectively with whatever needs our projects have, that we get along and build strong relationships as a team and finally that our team as well as the people we work with in Guatemala can be drawn closer to God.
